As part of the International Day of Young Girls in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector, celebrated around the theme : "Artificial intelligence for development : young girls are shaping the digital future", the General Directorate of the Executive Body of the National Telecommunications Council (CONATEL) reaffirms its commitment to digital inclusion, equal opportunities and the empowerment of young girls in Haiti.

This day was an important opportunity to raise awareness of the need to encourage the active participation of young girls in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, particularly in a global context marked by the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and digital innovations.

According to CONATEL "Artificial intelligence today represents a strategic lever for economic, social and institutional transformation. It opens new perspectives for sustainable development, education, health, governance and entrepreneurship. However, to ensure inclusive and equitable digital transformation, it is essential that young girls can access technological tools, specialized training and professional opportunities in this sector."

CONATEL underlines "the digital future of Haiti cannot be built without the full participation of women and young girls. Their presence in the technological ecosystem is not only a question of equity, but also an essential condition for stimulating innovation, strengthening competitiveness and promoting harmonious and sustainable development.

Through its regulatory, awareness-raising and promotion actions for universal access to technologies, CONATEL intends to continue its efforts to create an environment favorable to the emergence of female talents in digital and support all initiatives aimed at reducing the digital gender divide.
